This weekend we had some more holiday fun. Friday night we helped cater a Christmas party for about 300 people. It was amazing! My sisters did a georgeous job and everyone was blown away.

Saturday night we went to the dollar store so the kids could each buy something for their siblings. They enjoyed searching for treasures their siblings would like to receive on Christmas morning. When we got home, Alexis, Amanda and Aspen were wrapping their gifts and realized they had all gotten the same teddy bear for Ash, just in different colors. No worries, Ash can never get enough teddy bears.

Another funny thing happend that evening. Aspen had bought some necklaces with crosses on them and had given one to Ash. The two of them came to me wearing the crosses on their necks and Alexis and Aiden brought it to my attention. Because they necklaces were so cheap(he bought them from the vending machine at the front of the store for a quarter), I wasn't worried about them lasting a long time and told them that while we don't normally focus on just that small part of his ministry and life, the cross itself isn't bad and it won't hurt them to wear it for the evening. In fact, it would be better to let Aspen feel good about buying something for his brother than to tell him he had purchased an inappropriate gift. Anyway, Ash was extremely excited about the necklace and said, "I am going to wear this my entire life and never take it off. When I die and go to Jesus, HE can take it off me!!" Too bad for him, it was broken before we left the store.

Sunday afternoon we made some salt dough ornaments for our tree. They turned out really cute and we had a good visit with my niece, Brittany, while we did it.

On Sunday evening we went to a Christmas program put on by our church. It was beautifully done but we ended up leaving early because the younger kids were getting restless. Next year we will be sure to get there earlier so we have better seats. I think if they can see and hear what is going on better they will be more likely to enjoy it.

I love the holiday season! There are so many fun and exciting things to do every day and every evening.
