Yes for Marriage

There is an Arizona constitutional ammendment on the ballot coming up that is very important. It is a clear and simple proposition (only 21 words) that will ensure judges do not end up defining what a marriage is. We NEED this ammendment passed to help protect marriages from being "redefined".

This proposition only defines marriage. It does not grant tax benefits or anything else for anyone- it simply allows us as Arizonans to define marriage instead of leaving that up to the judges. Unfortunately, California passed numerous laws protecting marriage but 4 judges came in and wiped all that out by claiming their constitution did not define marriage. They took it upon themselves to define marriage as a union between any two people who love each other. What's next? Any three people who love each other? Any ten people who love each other? Any adult and any child? Any person and their dog? We can't let that happen! We need to ammend our own constitution so a few judges can't take on that responsibility themselves.

One thing we have learned in having Amanda in our family is the absolute need for children to be raised with a loving father and mother. She has so many inner struggles with relationships that I cannot even begin to put them on this blog. However, one trend we have noticed is that without growing up witnessing a loving father and mother, she has been left unable to form healthy relationships with both men and women. Don't misunderstand me, children can grow up to be good members of our society with only one parent (I did). But for society as a whole, children need both a father and a mother to keep them balanced and happy. It is more than needing two people who love you. It is about having a male role model and a female role model, working together to compliment one another's strengths, the way God intended it from the beginning.
